Position Summary:
Somos Votantes is looking for an entry level Social Media Community Coordinator to help manage our social media accounts and build a highly engaged virtual community. A successful candidate will have a history of building highly engaging content, building vibrant communities online, and have experience with experimental content development. Somos is looking for a creative individual who will help tell our story online and engage Latinos with culturally competent content. This position will work within our Communications and Media department.

We are dedicated to empowering and educating Latino communities with the knowledge, tools and opportunities they need to participate in our democracy and create meaningful change in their communities.

We specialize in culturally competent community organizing and connect with our community on issues that impact their daily lives, advocate for policies that will make their lives better, and help break down barriers that keep them from actively engaging in our democracy.
Key Responsibilities:
Content Creation & Message Development
- Support in the creation of engaging and shared content across various platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, with meticulous attention to detail.
- Work in collaboration with the Digital Program Manager to develop and maintain the Somos Social Media Content Calendar.
- Manage graphic design work including but not limited to social media graphics, flyers for events, social media filters and digital event promotion.
- Lead in the development of event toolkits for events partners as needed and requested by state teams.
- Work in collaboration with the Digital Program Manager to promote press releases through social media, ensuring that messaging is consistent with brand messaging.
- Manage all video editing and video program development for Somos social media accounts.
- Be aware of rapid response protocol and process for social media engagement prior to any majorevent.
- Ensuring Somos social media content is accessible to diverse audiences, specifically throughbilingual or Spanish language content.
Process & Systems Management
- Support in the maintenance of social media campaign records, contracts and related information as needed.
- Monitor social media for opportunities for Somos to engage with other organizations, reporters, etc. Sharing any opportunities with the Digital Program Manager as they arise.
- Monitor and flag to the Digital Program Manager any comments, messages, and mentions onsocial media channels.
- Manage URL platforms and shortlink systems, with an eye to detail and brand consistency.
Relationship Management
- Connect with and maintain digital relationships with journalists, influencers and media stakeholders through Somos social media channels.
Social Media Campaign Strategy Development & Management
- Work with the Digital Media Program Manager to develop social media content and strategy to promote Somos programs and projects through various social media channels and platforms.
- Assist in the creation of paid social media content or redesigning of original content to fit paidmedia needs.
Industry Research & Compliance
- Work with the Digital Program Manager to ensure all social media posts are legally compliant and have appropriate disclaimers.
- Attend social media trainings to continue learning and skill development
- Stay up-to-date on industry trends, audience demographics and emerging social media platformsto keep our content fresh and innovative.
Interdepartmental Collaboration & Communication
- Work collaboratively with Somos existing staff and consultants on areas of focus work including but not limited to: research, digital media, data collection.
- Attend weekly department and organizational meetings, sharing updates on ongoing projects while collaborating with team members on various projects.
All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- At least one year of Social Media management experience or similar role in a professional setting.
- Demonstrated ability to create and execute engaging social media content.
- Demonstrated commitment to the organization's mission and values.
- Proficiency in social media management tools and platforms.
- Strong creative and content creation skills, including graphic design and video editing.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Highly organized, with strong project management skills.
- Up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and social media best practices.
- Strong organizational and project management skills, including the ability to manage multipleprojects and priorities simultaneously.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with changing priorities and timelines.
- Spanish language proficiency is highly desirable but not required.
- Must be able to work evenings and weekends as required.

Compensation:
This is a full time exempt salaried position that runs through December 2025. The pay range is $50,000 - $60,000 per year and is commensurate with experience.

Somos Votantes provides a generous paid time off policy with paid vacation, paid sick leave, personal days, paid Federal holidays, and paid organizational time off from at least Dec 23 to January 1st yearly. Somos Votantes provides staff cell phone reimbursement, and up to 80% of employee healthcare reimbursed.
