Vote Forward is hiring part-time (hourly) phone bankers to make volunteer recruitment phone calls for the organization’s letter-writing and flyering campaign, which will contact Democratic voters about California’s Proposition 50 ahead of the special election in November 2025.
Vote Forward is a 501(c)(4) organization with a core non-partisan mission to test and scale new, high-impact tactics encouraging fellow Americans to vote. Since 2018, more than 250,000 grassroots volunteers have used the Vote Forward platform to send handwritten letters to more than 40 million prospective voters to encourage them to register to vote and turn out for elections.
Timeline
- Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis.
- The priority application deadline is September 25, 2025.
- Hires will be onboarded on a rolling basis and the position will conclude no later than November 5, 2025.
Objective
Support Vote Forward’s efforts to recruit, train, and activate volunteers at scale in the final month of the California Prop 50 campaign by participating in volunteer recruitment phone banks.
Responsibilities
Make recruitment calls to Vote Forward volunteers through a dialer to ask them to join Vote Forward and the California Prop 50 campaign.
- Attend training and follow guidance for phone banking and making effective volunteer recruitment calls.
- Training and phone banks will be hosted via Zoom, and callers must sign up for and join these scheduled events to make calls.
- Use an online calling system that automatically dials phone numbers and connects the caller to a person when they pick up, keeping personal information like phone numbers secure.
- Use a personal laptop/computer and phone to join phone bank events and make calls through a dialer.
- Follow a written script during phone conversations.
Qualifications
- Located and eligible to work in the United States.
- Language: Fluency in English is required. Proficiency in Spanish is a plus.
- Interest in and alignment with the mission and values of Vote Forward and our campaign to contact Democratic voters about California’s Proposition 50.
- Ability to attend virtual training (1-2 hours) and phone bank events (2-4 hours) via Zoom at pre-scheduled times, from start to end. This will include some evenings and weekends (before 9 pm ET).
- Reliable access to a laptop/computer, internet, and a cell phone that can be used for the responsibilities of this role.
- Ability to make phone calls for 3 hours at a time without significant interruptions.
- Ability to read and follow a written script and instructions.
- The ability to verbally communicate with individuals over the phone.
Compensation
- $18.00 per hour
- An estimated minimum of 4 hours per week.
- Maximum of 26 hours per week, depending on phone bank availability.
This position is a part-time, hourly, non-exempt, and remote position based in the United States. This is a short-term opportunity that ends by November 5, 2025.
