Title: Storyteller Manager
Reports to: Communications Director
Location: Washington, D.C.
Status: Full time, Exempt
Salary Range: $60k - $65K
Job Summary
The Hub Project is seeking a passionate and motivated Storyteller Manager to join our team. The Storyteller Manager will be responsible for collecting and curating compelling stories that can be used to advance our advocacy work. This will include managing and supporting storytellers across the country, and developing relationships with stakeholders and partner organizations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in coordination, relationship management, and project management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify potential storytellers and work with them to develop their stories,including developing framing questions and conducting story collection interviews.
  • Manage and support a team of storytellers, providing guidance and mentorship as needed.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with state stakeholders and partner organizations to collect stories and find creative ways to uplift the stories.
  • Collaborate with other team members on strategy and execution of the storytelling campaigns.
  • Create and maintain a database of stories and storytellers.
  • Monitor and track the impact of storytelling on our advocacy work.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • At least 3 years of experience in storytelling, relationship management, and project management.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Passion for social justice and advocacy.
  • Experience in advocacy or political campaigns is a plus.
  • Experience working with diverse communities.
  • Experience gathering and/or analyzing qualitative research is a plus.
This position is included in a union-represented collective bargaining unit; specific employment terms and conditions are subject to labor-management negotiations and a potential Collective Bargaining Agreement.
Benefits
Comprehensive benefits package that includes 100% employer-paid health, dental, and vision insurance for employees (and their families). Employees are able to enroll in 401k retirement plan and are eligible for a 3% automatic contribution and up to a 3% employer match on 401k contributions. Employees are also eligible for pre-tax transportation benefits. Employees will receive 120 hours of vacation time, 80 hours of health leave, up to 2 days of casual leave, and 20 hours of volunteer leave annually. Employees will also receive 13 paid holidays throughout the calendar year. Employees are eligible for 12 weeks of paid family and medical leave after 90 days of employment.
