Position Summary

The Hub Project seeks an experienced and innovative Senior Director of Polling and Analytics to join our public opinion collective, which equips top leaders in Washington and grassroots organizations across the country with up-to-date, data-driven insights that shape debates on the issues that matter most. The Senior Director will oversee the design, execution, and dissemination of all public opinion research projects related to our polling and analytics. This is a senior leadership role at The Hub Project and a key member of the organization’s executive team.

The Senior Director will lead a team of passionate and talented strategists with diverse areas of expertise, including polling analysts, communications and digital strategists, and external consultants, to design, manage, and disseminate a robust pipeline of qualitative and quantitative research projects that uphold the highest standards of methodological rigor and inform direct communications strategy. This role will frequently interface with other campaign teams at The Hub Project and collaborate closely to ensure they are equipped with data-driven messaging guidance in support of their campaigns.

This position requires overseeing an annual budget, managing external research vendors and consultants, publicly presenting research findings and messaging guidance, and being a high-profile representative in the progressive community.

  • Manage a large team of employees and consultants to execute all components of the quantitative and qualitative research lifecycle across multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Present and communicate results from polling, data, and analytics projects both internally, to strategically inform and advance The Hub Project’s issue advocacy campaigns, and externally to partners, elected officials, the press, and other stakeholders.
  • Design and oversee significant budgets and strategic plans that achieve the priorities of the polling and analytics function, as well as the broader goals of The Hub Project and its issue advocacy campaigns.
  • Cultivate deeper engagement with existing partners while developing new relationships to expand the reach of polling and analytics initiatives.
Continuously identify and explore opportunities to enhance The Hub Project’s capacity to employ cutting-edge techniques and methodologies.

  • You have at least 10 years of experience working in, and managing a team within, one of the following fields: issue advocacy, campaigns, survey research, government, or an equivalent area.
You are a creative and expansive thinker with a vision for how progressives can better communicate their values and are willing to ask tough questions.
  • You have extensive experience translating complex data into clear findings and strategic recommendations, both in writing and through public presentations, and can communicate effectively to a variety of audiences.
  • You have a track record of developing and maintaining strong working relationships with a diverse group of internal and external stakeholders.
You have significant experience managing large budgets.
You are an experienced and skilled manager who encourages teamwork, collaboration, and professional growth among your team.
