Summary
Pivot seeks a Senior Production Designer/Pre-Press Specialist to join our team ahead of the 2026 election cycle. This is a fully remote role in our Creative Department.
The Senior Production Designer/Pre-Press Specialist typically works weekdays from 11am-8pm EST, but those hours may increase as demand and deadlines shift. The Senior Production Designer/Pre-Press Specialist works strategically with our award-winning creative team to prepare files for production including direct mail, digital ads, collateral, signage, premiums and other print products. We are seeking someone who communicates exceptionally, thinks strategically, and is a proactive, detail-oriented team player.
This is a full-time, temporary position through Election Day 2026 with competitive salary and excellent benefits. The nature of our business requires long hours during the election cycle, and we expect all staff to be flexible in this area. Weekend and evening work will be required. However, Pivot works to ensure all staff maintain a healthy work/life balance.
Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis with priority given to those received before February 23, 2026. The anticipated start date for this role is April 2026.
Responsibilities
- Prepare, pre-flight and package files for printers.
- Retouch and color-correct photos.
- Manage and delegate incoming press requests.
- Identify and correct potential print problems.
- Provide graphic support to members of the design team.
- Make minor copy edits to existing designs.
- Manage library of graphic assets.
Qualifications
What you bring to the team:
- 3-7 years of relevant experience.
- Comprehensive knowledge of pre-flight and prepress workflow.
- Expert knowledge of Adobe CS, especially InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop.
- Comprehensive knowledge of design for print.
- Willingness to work long hours and weekends.
- Ability to turn projects around quickly.
- Ability to adhere to USPS regulations for mailers.
- Exceptional attention to detail; please include the word “penguin” in your cover letter.
- Strong, responsive written and verbal communication.
- Flexible, poised-under-pressure attitude.
- Ability to juggle multiple projects on tight deadlines and adjust when directions shift.
- Commitment to racial equity, social justice, and democratic causes.
- Knowledge of best practices for production and agency flow.

Compensation & Benefits
The salary for this position is set at $6,175 per month. There is also the opportunity for end of election bonuses, based off individual and firm performance. To ensure pay equity across our team, starting salaries are non-negotiable.
