About Us

The Sunrise Project is a global network of independent organizations united by a common mission: to drive interventions to accelerate the transition from fossil fuels to renewable energy. We developed a unique model of changemaking where we identify key leverage points, design strategic interventions, and organise diverse networks to make them happen.

Sunrise International is a proud member of The Sunrise Project network. We adapt our role based on what is needed to have the greatest impact. We provide grants and build capacity where it’s needed, and sometimes we develop new brands or organisations and execute campaigns ourselves.

As a global network, we believe that a diversity of experiences and perspectives will help us build stronger strategies, teams, and movements. We are committed to building an inclusive and supportive workplace and encourage applications from people of diverse backgrounds, including First Nations people, people of colour, people living outside major cities, people with disabilities, neurodivergent people, and LGBTQIA+ people. Find out more here.

About the Project

Asia is the front line of the global energy transition - and the stakes couldn't be higher. The region holds 81% of the world's operating coal capacity and hundreds of millions of people suffering from expensive and unreliable electricity, yet at the same time is home to some of the world's fastest-growing solar markets and a booming clean tech manufacturing base.

The Asia Clean Energy Finance project focuses on accelerating the shift to customer-owned renewable electrification (CORE) with a focus on south and south-east Asia. We believe that households, businesses and communities becoming their own renewable power producers is the fastest, most inclusive and most financially sustainable route to achieving the clean energy transition. We do this by working with partners across civil society, government and the finance sector, to unlock affordable finance, reduce the cost of capital and build enabling policy environments for distributed clean energy.

About The Role

This is a new role to support the Asia Clean Energy Project, providing operational and grant-making support to the project team, which aims to shift finance to accelerate the renewable energy transition in Asia. The role will work closely with the Asia Clean Energy Finance Lead and program team, enabling the team to function smoothly and be more than the sum of its parts. The role will support a number of high-level initiatives, including an Executive Taskforce for Solar Industry Association Strengthening. 50% of your time will be dedicated to supporting the Taskforce.

You are a highly-organized person who has an eagle eye for detail and who loves collaborating with others to solve problems and streamlining processes and systems. You have a knack for managing a variety of projects, systems and processes, and the drive to keep a team on track to meet multiple competing deadlines. You’re flexible, enjoy variety in your work, and you thrive on being the “go to” person for team coordination and support. You are adept at coordinating and sharing information, enjoy exploring opportunities to improve how the team works together and contribute to a team culture of continuous learning.

You appreciate the big picture of our mission and balance that with a high level of attention to detail and a collaborative mind-set to prioritize your work. You understand that functioning systems and good team culture are the platform that all our mission driven work stands on.

You are passionate about supporting a team of strategists aiming to accelerate the renewable energy transition.
