Social Media Coordinator

About Vocal Media

Vocal Media is a social impact marketing agency. We build and activate powerful social media movements across the top social platforms: TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, Twitch, Facebook, X, and Discord. We work on issues like racial justice, climate change, and economic inequality, as well as creating cultural content around popular topics like health and wellness, beauty, fashion, sports, media, history, and everything in between.
The Vocal Media team brings together talent from music promotion, tech, digital marketing, influencer marketing, and political organizing to support progressive campaigns and organizations. Across the board, our team members believe deeply in helping organizations leverage social media to promote social good.

Responsibilities

Content Creation & Management

Write engaging social media copy across multiple accounts targeting different audiences.
Produce static and video posts for multiple accounts across several brands, leveraging post templates, AI tools, and other internal resources.
Oversee content’s movement through the approvals process, from first drafts to scheduling final, client-approved posts.
Create and update content templates to streamline production and ensure visual consistency.
Research industry and topic-specific content, trends, and audiences to inform content output.
Test various content formats, recommending output adjustments based on those insights.
Provide ongoing content performance analysis, identifying what’s working, challenges, and growth opportunities.

Community Management

Monitor and respond to audience interactions (i.e. DMs, comments, mentions) in a timely, brand-aligned manner.
Escalate sensitive or high-priority messages to internal colleagues as needed.
Proactively engage with peer brands, creators, and industry influencers, strategically placing client-approved engagements to boost visibility.

Miscellaneous

Participate in synchronous team and client meetings, including daily check-ins with direct supervisor.
Help draft reports on a weekly and monthly basis, analyzing and communicating insights from performance and community management data.

Qualifications

1-2 years of relevant experience preferred, including part-time and internships.
Proficient at graphic design (e.g., Canva, Figma) and video editing (e.g., Descript, Premiere Pro).
Great organizational & communication skills with a strong commitment to follow through.
Strong time management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities simultaneously under strict deadlines.
Demonstrated experience or deep interest in social impact or mission-driven work.

Work in any timezone within the continental US — EST hours not required
$60,000 annual salary
