Voter Formation Project is seeking a Digital Content Manager to join our team. We will be reviewing applications on a rolling basis through February 23 as we’re looking to fill the position by April 2024.
The Digital Content Manager is responsible for providing strategic leadership and guidance on Voter Formation Project’s organic digital strategy across a variety of mediums and tactics, including social media, digital storytelling, influencer strategy, creative messaging, and more. The Digital Content Manager will directly manage Voter Formation Project’s social media channels, including the development of an organic content creation process, planning and execution of content, and collaboration with the rest of the Programs team to test and iterate on content across paid and organic platforms.

As the Digital Content Manager you will:

  • Develop and implement Voter Formation Project’s organic digital strategy, including social media content and other digital communications.
  • Manage Voter Formation Project’s social media channels, including drafting copy, posting content, and managing the organization's online community.
  • In collaboration with the Director of Digital Programs, manage Voter Formation Project’s influencer strategy program and act as the main point of contact with influencers and technology vendors.
  • Work closely with the Creative team to develop innovative organic content that represents the voice and tone of the organization and its audiences.
  • Collaborate across teams, including data / technology, creative, media, development, and operations to ensure Voter Formation Project’s organizational goals on organic digital platforms are met.
  • Develop a process for testing organic content in order to determine what best resonates with our audiences.
  • Launch accounts and content on new platforms as they arise.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • At least 4-6 years of experience managing digital strategy for an organization or campaign, including writing and editing digital content.
  • Strong attention to detail and creative problem solving skills.
  • Experience working in social media accounts and tools, including directly in platform and via third party management tools.
  • Ability to build, develop, and maintain systems.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both internally and with external stakeholders in a fully remote environment.
  • Strong research skills.
  • Interest in continuous improvement and professional development.
  • Enthusiasm for Voter Formation Project’s mission and vision.

The nice-to-haves:

  • Experience working in the political advocacy and non-profit industry
  • Experience engaging with influencers and content creators
  • Experience working to engage communities of color through digital content.
The Voter Formation Project offers a generous benefits package, which includes:
*Unlimited paid vacation (all benefits-eligible employees are required to take three weeks of vacation per year).
*Parental leave and various other paid leave types.
*Fully paid medical and dental insurance. Vision premiums are 75% covered.
*Co-working or home office reimbursement.
*Retirement account with employer matching.
While the Voter Formation Project is an organization that works in political cycles, we whole-heartedly reject campaign culture and are focused on developing new, healthy norms for campaign work—even in-cycle.
Voter Formation Project operates on the four-day work week. In general, we work from Monday to Thursday and are closed on Fridays (holiday schedules may shift our work week). Our four days of work are standard eight-hour work days; we do not work a schedule of four ten-hour days.
