The Working Families Party (WFP) is the progressive party for the multiracial working class, fighting for a nation that works for the many, not the few. We recruit, train, and support transformational candidates up and down the ballot — and run them to win.

The OWFP State Director is responsible for building one of the flagship chapters of the Working Families Party in alignment with National Working Families Party’s vision of a mass base party of the multiracial working class while maintaining the fusion and institutional power of a legacy organization. The State Director drives the strategy and vision for the development, growth, stability and power of the Working Families Party Oregon.

In this role, the State Director will eventually support recruiting and managing a diverse and talented team, oversee the legal and administrative functions of the Party’s fusion and infrastructure, drive issue and electoral campaign activities, support a robust and aggressive communications program, build WFP as a organizing shop with strong member engagement and grassroots power, and raise funds for the Party’s program.

The State Director leads an elected officer body of leaders from the State Committee to endorse WFP aligned candidates each year and build strong organizational alignment and internal democracy. Serving as the political and legislative strategist for the Working Families Party/Working Families Organization within the state, they work with the Regional Director of the Northwest, the OWFP State Committee, senior staff, officers, members and affiliates to develop the state’s political strategy and oversee that strategy’s implementation in a complex, competitive, high-intensity political environment.
