About the Senior Director, Partnerships Position
The Senior Director, Partnerships leads the vision, strategy, and execution of WorkMoney Inc.’s trusted partner portfolio — the products and services that help members save and earn more. This position shapes the organization’s partnership ecosystem by overseeing partner development, negotiations, and long-term growth to maximize value for members. The Senior Director, Partnerships drives innovation in partnership strategy, ensures operational excellence across the portfolio, and fosters high-impact relationships with key external partners such as GoodRx, Upside, Lemonade, and more. Working cross-functionally, this role aligns partnership initiatives with WorkMoney Inc.’s mission and growth priorities to deliver meaningful, measurable outcomes at scale.
A typical day in the life of our Senior Director, Partnerships could look like:
- Lead the overall strategy, vision, and execution for WorkMoney Inc.’s trusted partner portfolio, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and member impact objectives
- Design and implement a multi-year portfolio strategy focused on growth, diversification, and long-term value creation for members
- Represent the partnerships function, providing insight, forecasting, and strategic recommendations to senior leadership
- Serve as a thought leader on trends, innovations, and partnership models that improve Americans’ financial health and make life more affordable
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders (e.g., Marketing, Product, Finance, Legal) to align partnership strategy with member experience, research findings, brand goals, and financial sustainability
- Develop and maintain strong executive-level relationships with key strategic and prospective partners, serving as the senior liaison for negotiations and strategic growth opportunities
- Lead complex negotiations and contract structuring, ensuring agreements maximize value for WorkMoney, Inc. members and mitigate organizational risk
- Oversee compliance and due diligence processes for partner selection, ensuring all partners meet WorkMoney Inc.’s values, standards, and requirements
- Develop and maintain a consistent framework for partner evaluation, including ROI, member engagement, and alignment with mission outcomes
- Lead partner evaluation, onboarding, and performance management processes to ensure alignment with member impact and organizational goals
- Establish and monitor KPIs for the partner ecosystem, analyze success metrics, objectives and key results and apply insights to drive continuous optimization and strategic growth
- Collaborate cross-functionally to assess partnership impact, incorporating findings into portfolio strategy and continuous improvement across the entire user journey
- Serve as the bridge between Partnerships and Technology, ensuring member-facing experiences are optimized for conversion, engagement, and satisfaction
- Collaborate cross-functionally to design integrated campaigns that highlight partnership value to members
- Lead development or improvement of internal tools, templates, and systems that streamline partner management and reporting processes
- Manage the Partnerships budget, including forecasting, performance-to-plan tracking, and reporting on ROI and cost efficiency
- Oversee and develop direct reports, fostering a culture of high performance, accountability, and continuous learning
- Establish clear goals, KPIs, and performance expectations for team members, conduct regular performance reviews, and provide actionable feedback
- Identify and nurture talent within the Digital Innovation team, providing coaching, mentorship, and career development opportunities to support employee growth and retention
Must haves
- 8+ years of progressive experience in partnerships, business development, or strategic alliances, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role
- Solid understanding of partnership models across multiple verticals (financial services, consumer tech, healthcare, utilities, etc.) and their relevance to improving affordability
- Strong networks in the financial health industry, as well as a solid understanding of leading consumer brands that help Americans save on everyday expenses such as groceries, utilities, healthcare, and more
- Proven success leading large-scale partnership portfolios that pursue a “double bottom line” - driving measurable business outcomes as well as member impact
- Deep experience negotiating and structuring complex commercial agreements, including revenue-share or strategic alliance models
- Familiarity with risk mitigation strategies, contract compliance, and ethical partner standards
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams and stakeholders through change, including scaling programs, restructuring portfolios, or evolving operating models
- Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills, with the ability to translate data and market insights into actionable strategies
- Experience leveraging analytics platforms or dashboards to monitor partner performance metrics and member engagement
- Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor high-performing teams and manage through influence across matrixed organizations
- Exceptional relationship management and executive communication skills, with the ability to build trust at the C-suite and board levels and to clearly convey complex partnership value propositions to both internal and external audiences
- Track record of building scalable processes and systems for partner evaluation, onboarding, and performance tracking
- High level of integrity, sound judgment, and commitment to WorkMoney Inc.’s mission to make American life more affordable

- Experience developing membership engagement and lifecycle management strategies

The starting salary for this role is $165,000.00 - $185,000.00 annually and as part of our commitment to pay transparency and equity in our organization, the salary for this position is not negotiable.
