The Director of Technical Solutions plays a multifaceted role, providing strategic technical leadership and hands-on consulting for Zuri Group clients and internal projects. Our team of developers specialize in offering expert guidance and best practices for the successful architecture, implementation, and utilization of fundraising systems. This role provides leadership in maintaining Zuri Group’s high delivery standards and ensuring exceptional, consistent service for our clients.
In the dynamic realm of software development, our client projects are dedicated to elevating the functionality and efficiency of critical business systems. This leadership position has a primary emphasis on the fundraising software solution Blackbaud CRM and an array of other cutting-edge technologies. In this capacity, this role is positioned at the vanguard of these transformative projects, serving as the catalyst for change within our clients' organizations. Developing well-thought-out and logical solutions to intricate challenges should be a passion and a central aspect of this role.

Job Responsibilities

  • Oversee and proactively provide strategic recommendations and best practice advice on meeting goals through software system configuration, customization, process improvement, and/or staff training. Include appropriate considerations of budget, timeframe, client capacity.
  • Strengthen your recommendations with a keen understanding of system opportunities and potential shortcomings, leveraging your extensive expertise and industry insight to drive informed decision-making and deliver optimal solutions.
  • Lead comprehensive client education and training initiatives, with a specific focus on ensuring a smooth go-live transition and facilitating user proficiency by providing expert guidance and empowering clients to harness the full potential of their new technologies.
  • Establish yourself as a trusted advisor to clients, gaining a deep understanding of their unique requirements and aligning solutions with their specific business objectives.
  • Champion effective communication strategies to foster robust client relationships, adeptly managing and fulfilling their needs with a keen understanding of their objectives and expectations.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to articulate the scope of work needed to meet client requirements, meticulously assessing the level of effort required. Additionally, exercise vigilant oversight of project resources, working in tandem with project management to ensure optimal resource allocation and project success.
  • Spearhead and oversee the strategic development of software solutions tailored to meet project objectives and precise requirements, serving as the driving force behind innovation and excellence in technical project deliverables.
  • Forge collaborative partnerships with clients and cross-functional development teams, demonstrating an innate ability to discern intricate business requirements. Transform these insights into concrete technical specifications, facilitating the seamless translation of needs into robust CRM solutions.
  • Proficiency in programming languages including C#, .NET Framework, SQL, HTML, JavaScript, and XML. Your choice of language is deftly tailored to the unique demands of each project, ensuring the optimal alignment between technology and project objectives.
  • Craft and sustain code of exemplary quality, characterized by its cleanliness, efficiency, and comprehensive documentation and oversee junior staff’s code to maintain quality standards.
  • Conduct unit and integration testing to ensure that software applications meet functional and performance requirements.
  • Identify and troubleshoot issues with software applications, and implement fixes or workarounds as needed while overseeing junior staff’s troubleshooting efforts.
  • Remain current with the latest trends and advancements in software development and deliver informed recommendations to clients and stakeholders.
  • Provide ongoing support and maintenance for software applications, including bug fixes and feature enhancements.
  • Collaborate with other members of the development team to ensure that projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Proactively identify opportunities for upselling, cross-selling, and expanding client partnerships.

Relevant Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree or 5-7 years of relevant leadership experience.
  • Proven experience (minimum of 5 years) in non-profit and/or higher education implementation projects, preferably in a technology consulting environment.
  • Knowledge of fundraising principles and demonstrated proficiency in related technical systems such as Salesforce, Blackbaud CRM, etc.
  • Possesses subject matter expertise and demonstrated proficiency in core software systems as relevant to the Technical Solutions department (e.g. SQL, AWS, Blackbaud CRM, etc.)
  • Programming skills in C#, .NET Framework, SQL, HTML, JavaScript, and XML.
  • Highly analytical, technically proficient, and able to learn new tools and software quickly.
  • Ability to relay and explain technical concepts to a broad audience, including non-technical staff.
  • Effective in building consensus and communicating with a wide range of stakeholders, including executives and senior level staff.

Bonus Points

  • Experience with the BBCRM LO (Luminate Online)
  • Experience with managing projects in a consulting context/framework.
  • Working knowledge of JIRA or other task-management systems.
The salary floor for this role is $145,000, commensurate with experience.
