Graphicacy, a data visualization, design and interactive studio, is recruiting an experienced data visualization engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate for this role will be passionate about innovative front-end solutions. They will be capable of engineering cutting-edge digital experiences for Graphicacy’s clients to continue to set Graphicacy apart as a leader in innovative and well designed digital products. This position is for an engineer who has the ability to be as effective writing code as they are in talking to clients and collaborating with designers, project managers, and other engineers. They will possess a combination of programming skills (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, etc.) and aesthetic sensibility. We are a dynamic team that works fast — as such, we want to work with people who are forward thinking, self-motivated and excited about new opportunities. Our team is distributed throughout the US and this position is fully remote.About the Role:- Craft innovative and performant engineering solutions; build interactive and static data visualizations, online applications and information graphics; help turn client ideas into executable solutions; collaborate with developers and designers.- Be an empathic technology guide; translate requirements into interfaces; provide technical documentation.- Help make Graphicacy better; provide input on technology toolkit; troubleshoot and support existing software.About You:- 5–7 years’ experience as a software or data visualization engineer.- Advanced knowledge of modern SPA frameworks (React, Angular, Vue); experience with D3/canvas; familiarity with Python/NodeJS and cloud (AWS/Google Cloud/Azure); experience with map-based visualizations; fluent in JavaScript and TypeScript; ability to lead scoping and development conversations; experience mentoring other engineers.About Us and Benefits: Graphicacy is a mission-driven data visualization and design studio in Washington, DC, with Brooklyn, and Los Angeles.
