Iconico is a consulting firm that helps build advocacy capacity in communities. We partner with organizations to develop public engagement campaigns that vary from grassroots community organizing and mobilization, to family and community engagement with school systems.
Some of our current projects include developing a training program for one of the largest advocacy groups in the country, designing a family and community engagement models for large school systems, and aiding the creation of a nonprofit to accelerate and incubate talent in battleground states. Our strengths are in the development of advocacy and electoral campaigns and designing and facilitating training programs for community organizing and campaigning.
Position Summary
Iconico is seeking a Managing Director who will assist a rapidly growing organization in reaching its next level of impact and reach through capacity building with high impact organizations. This person will be the internal head in project and staff management, as well as playing a major role in helping the President with campaign strategy and team’s leadership development, spearheading culture alongside operations, as well as coaching and facilitating training and conversations. The ideal candidate will have some issue based or electoral experience, be an excellent manager who’s well organized, and be a fantastic communicator who can take a consultative approach with partners. We are looking for someone who likes to build meaningful relationships with others, prioritizes their and others’ well-being, and grounds their work in anti-racist practices, and thinks of ways to inspire change amongst peers, institutions and systems. What are we looking for:
Strategic Leadership
- Minimum 7-10 years relevant work experience, of which you have spent two or more years in project management working with multiple partners, and stakeholders
- Track record of success in an entrepreneurial, startup work environment
- Demonstrated experience in managing up and working well in a consultative work
- Aptitude to collaborate and strategically plan with Iconico’s partners and staff
- Head the implementation of impact metrics, designing assessment processes throughout our services and outputs
- Exceptional project management know-how, including demonstrated success in planning and presiding over involved projects through to completion
- Be able to communicate effectively (written, verbal, and presentation familiarity)
People and Culture Management
- Knowledge of how to handle and effectively prioritize a high volume of work, and adapt to new information and changing priorities
- Effectively guide people and projects using strengths-based approaches like coaching and modeling
- Sets revenue, staffing, and process growth goals for team
- Develop cross-departmental processes for stewarding capacity and forecasting capacity needs
- Work with Operations head and department heads to develop new structures and systems
- Facilitate training sessions, meetings and professional development offerings to staff and partners
- A pledge to building power with communities most impacted by social inequities, a steadfastness to speak your truth with respect and intentionality, and a drive to spread and share joy
Business Development
- Maintain a steady pipeline of partners each quarter to meet revenue objectives
- Conduct and carry out introductory calls and proposals with the help of the campaigns team
- Maintain existing partner relationships
- Assess team capacity to assist new partners
- Spanish language fluency preferred, not required
Compensation and Benefits
- Salary for this position $100-110k d based on prior experience
