Summer Fellowship Details
Trilogy offers part-time (25 hours per week), 8- to 10-week paid summer fellowships on our paid media or copywriting teams. Summer fellowships are expected to begin in early June and conclude in early August, though dates may shift slightly. If you are available and interested in continuing the fellowship from early summer through the 2024 election, please make that known in your application.
Our 2024 fellowship program is available to candidates residing in the Washington D.C. metro area. Fellows selected will be required to work from our D.C. office on a hybrid schedule, working in person on Tuesdays and Thursdays and remotely Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Candidates must have a personal computer to use for the duration of the fellowship. Our summer fellowships are intended for anyone interested in learning more about the world of digital marketing and do not require current college enrollment. However, applicants must be at least 18 or older.
As a Trilogy Interactive Fellow, you will play a crucial role on our team as we manage, develop, and launch digital communications strategies for our political and nonprofit clients. Fellows will learn directly about this fast-changing industry guided by members of the team. You’ll also participate in Trilogy’s Summer Fellowships Lunch & Learn Series, where Trilogy experts will share their experiences in subject areas such as digital fundraising, advertising, email marketing, social media, and more. Trilogy's staff will work with you to improve your skills and understanding of political communications, online organizing, and job hunting in this industry.
Ideal candidates will have an interest in and familiarity with electoral politics and campaigning, as well as an interest in the rapidly evolving field of digital marketing. We look for candidates with strong communication skills, good attention to detail, a sense of curiosity, and a willingness to explore new ideas.
Fellowships may include the following duties, depending on department:
- Performing quality assurance testing on email blasts, social media posts, and digital ads
- Drafting copy for use in campaign emails, social media, and online advertising programs
- Pulling performance metrics and preparing reports for clients
- Exploring and implementing with new digital tools
- Managing and maintaining clients’ online presences
How To Apply
If you are interested, please email your cover letter and résumé to fellowships@trilogyinteractive.com, with your preferred department [see below] noted in the subject line. Cover letters should address what interests you about Trilogy, why you think you would be an exceptional fit for our fellowship program, and whether you have interest in staying on board through November to help through the end of the 2024 election season. Please do not send generic or "fill-in-the-blank" cover letters. Applications for 2024 summer fellowships will be considered on a rolling basis, so please don’t delay in submitting yours!
Fellows will be paid the prevailing minimum wage in Berkeley, CA, home of Trilogy’s main office (currently $18.07/hour). This is a non-benefited position.
Fellowship Descriptions by Department
Copywriting
As a Copywriting Fellow at Trilogy Interactive, you’ll write clear, engaging, and persuasive email and social media copy for a variety of organizations. You’ll bring a passion for pithy writing, an interest in politics and current events, and proficiency with Google Docs. You’ll leave with an understanding of direct-response copywriting — that is, how to use the written word to inspire action. Familiarity with AP style is a bonus, but not required.
Paid Media
As a Paid Media Fellow at Trilogy Interactive, you will be closely involved with our team’s day-to-day advertising tasks such as reporting, trafficking, quality assurance, and research. You will have the opportunity to learn the ins and outs of digital media buying while working with key technology platforms such as Facebook, Google, and Roku. You will work primarily on electoral, nonprofit, and public affairs campaigns in a dynamic and highly collaborative environment with periods of intense and exciting work. For our media fellowships, being comfortable working with data and spreadsheets is important.
